So for years I always wanted to create something that would help Diabetics all round the world, no matter what “Type” you were, to help build their diabetes friend group and also to help them better understand their diabetes. So JABA was born, the worlds first Diabetes Social Network. It works on a simple structure similar to Facebook and users start off by creating their profile. This then leads you through a few simple questions to help customise your profile and then you are released into the world of JABA. Profile types range from the more “popular” types like Type 1 and Type 2 all the way down to MODY & LADA which are other types of diabetes that I never even knew about till I started JABA. Other key profile types that I need to include were that of our support networks like “Parent of”, “Partner of” and then the obvious like healthcare professionals etc. In total there are over 10 different profiles types, so hopefully something for everyone.
Users can create groups, chat with friends, create events to share, share links to their personal blogs or just sit back and learn from others talking on the site. We wanted to create the go to place where the theme was diabetes and we really do believe this is exactly what JABA represents. We are world wide and have over 300+ users already in over 5 different countries.
